Ranbir Kapoor is enjoying the phenomenal success of his last release, Sanju, as he shoots for his next big budget promising project, Brahmastra. But before this success, he has seen his fair share of failures as well. In fact, his debut film, Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali had tanked at the box office. His 2017 movie, Jagga Jasoos, which he also produced could not fare well. And not to forget Anurag Kashyap’s jazzy movie, Bombay Velvet. In a recent interview with HT Cafe, the actor has said he doesn’t regret being a part of any of these movies.

At the teaser launch, Sanju producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra had candidly said that he doesn’t agree with Ranbir’s previous choice of scripts and even went on to call it ‘stupid’. Reacting to the same, Ranbir has said, “I don’t regret (being a part of) any film that I have done (till date). Be it Bombay Velvet, Saawariya (2007) or Jagga Jasoos, they all came naturally from (within) me. So, they will always be a part of me. It’s like they are your children so yes, the successful ones are obviously there but it’s the failed ones that you will (always) be close to because you are always like, ‘why didn’t people love them?’ You always feel attached to them,”

Further elaborating, Ranbir said each of these movies helped him grow as an actor. He said, “I had an incredible experience while working on these films. They have really added [a lot] to my growth as a person as well as an actor,”

But the actor also accepted that success and failure don’t matter that much to him because he knows he still has opportunities to prove himself.
