Dharmendra took to his Twitter account to thank the authorities for the honour
Veteran actor Dharmendra has been chosen for Maharashtra government’s Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. Maharashtra Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde made the announcement via Twitter on Sunday (April 15). In the same tweet, he also revealed that director Rajkumar Hirani will be conferred with Raj Kpaoor Special Contributions Award. “Delighted to announce veteran actor Dharmendraji as the recipient of Maharashtra State’s Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award and director Rajkumar Hirani on being selected for the Raj Kapoor Special Contributions Award. Congratulations!” Tawde tweeted.
Dharmendra took to his Twitter account to thank Tawde and the Government of Maharastra as he tweeted, “Thank you Government of Maharashtra & Honourable Minister Of Cultural Affairs @TawdeVinod for the prestigious Maharashtra State’s Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. I feel honoured for the love and respect bestowed upon me. Congratulations to the fellow recipients!! 🙏 (sic).”

The awards will be given at the 55th Maharashtra State Marathi Film Festival. Dharmendra has had a long and illustrious career in the Hindi film industry. He was given the title of ‘He-Man’ for he starred in many action films. He has delivered more than 100 box office hits. One of his most notable roles was in Sholay (1975). At the age of 82 years, Dharmendra is still quite active at the movies as we will see him in the third part of Yamla Pagla Deewana, which will re-unite him with his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol on the big screen. Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha and Rekha will be seen making special appearances in the movie. It was earlier reported that Rekha will be seen recreating the classic, Rafta Rafta Dekho Aankh Meri Ladi Hai’ from Kahani Kismat Ki and O Mere Sona Re from Teesri Mazil. The latest reports suggest that Rekha will also be rapping a few lines for the medley.
