As Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's action entertainer WAR release today we watched the movie to let you know if it's worth watching or not. Read the review before you book the tickets.

The much talked about and hyped WAR is releasing today. Hrithik Roshan and his biggest fanboy Tiger Shroff play the role of a mentor and protege in this action-packed entertainer. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand. WAR is mounted on a lavish scale as it was evident from the first teaser. Here is our review of the film.

What is it about :
A top Indian intelligence officer and sniper Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) has turned rogue. He is behind the assassination of a high-profile personality and the job of hunting him down is given to Khaled (tiger shroff) his protege. What follows is a tale of some neat twists and jaw-dropping action sequences filmed in some exotic locations. WAR, like most action flicks is not plot-driven but has some interesting developments to keep us engaged when are not busy checking out the two men's hot bods or the mind-boggling fight scenes.

What Is Good :
Hrithik Roshan is hot but what is even hotter is the work of the action directors of the film. Paul Jennings' choreographed car chase in the Arctic Circle of Finland is simply wow. The same goes for the pulsating bike sequence in Portugal. It looks straight out of a motorbike Grand Prix. Coming to the actors, Hrithik Roshan drives the film with his charisma. We are sure some of the scenes will have separate fandoms. He is looking smoking hot. And Anand has captured him with a lot of love. His Kabir is cool, intense and wry at the same time. Tiger Shroff matches his mentor in every frame, especially in the action sequences. The young actor comes into his own in the climax where his acting chops stand out. Vaani Kapoor brings in some respite from the non-stop action and drama. Both the songs had the audience whistling and clapping in the theatre. Ben Jasper's cinematography gives the movie a sleek and rich look. But the film belongs to the action quartet of Franz Spilhaus, Parvez Shaikh, SeaYoung Oh and Paul who have done a tremendous job. Lastly, we must commend Aditya Chopra for backing what is Bollywood's finest action flick.

What Is Not :
The film could have been trimmed by 15 minutes for sure. Also, the hand-to-hand combat scenes between Tiger and Hrithik seem a little over stretched at places. It drags a bit. Another drawback is that a couple of scenes immediately remind you of those from Hollywood flicks, and damn popular ones. WAR is not a realistic film on intelligence so do not expect any subtlety.

Verdict :
WAR is that film that is perfect for a mid-week holiday. It has enough to keep you talking about it for the next couple of days. And ladies, if you start fantastising about Hrithik Roshan once again, do not blame us. Those gleaming biceps are lustworthy and how.
