Golmaal Again Is Refusing To Slow Down At The Box Office
Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again is refusing to slow down at the box office. Despite facing screen crunch due to new releases of Thor: Ragnarok and Ittefaq, the horror comedy has managed to remain stable in its third weekend. The film raked in Rs 4.85 crore yesterday and now stands with the total collections of Rs 193.51 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s collections on his twitter handle, “#GolmaalAgain is UNSTOPPABLE… Inches closer to ₹ 200 cr… [Week 3] Fri 2.04 cr, Sat 3.69 cr, Sun 4.85 cr. Total: ₹ 193.51 cr. India biz.”
Golmaal Again which features the ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Parineeti Chopra and Tabu, has managed to hold well in the single screens as well as multiplexes in the metro cities. The film has already become Ajay Devgn’s biggest blockbuster of all time and is all set to be his first Rs 200 crore movie. We can expect the film to achieve this feat by the end of its third week. Apart from this, it is also Rohit Shetty’s second highest grosser behind Chennai Express, which raked in Rs 227.13 crore during its theatrical run.
The perfect blend of comedy and horror has attracted a large number of family audiences towards the theaters. With such a huge success, Rohit Shetty had earlier quoted, “We waited more than seven years for the right subject to take the ‘Golmaal’ franchise forward. What we have achieved is very exciting and humbling, all thanks to the love showered upon us by fans across the globe.” Shibasish Sarkar, chief operating officer at Reliance Entertainment, said: “‘Golmaal Again’ has been an incredible journey for all of us. Our friend and partner, Rohit Shetty and his team, have outperformed every benchmark, and we are delighted with their unprecedented success.”
