Despite Being A Masala Entertainer, Golmaal Again Managed To Clicked Well With The International Audiences
Apart from shattering box office records at the domestic market, Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra starrer Golmaal Again have continued its phenomenal run at the overseas circuits as well. The horror-comedy has crossed the $6 million mark in the international markets. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the overseas collections, “#GolmaalAgain crosses $ 6 million OVERSEAS… Total till Tuesday, 31 October 2017: $ 6.06 million [₹ 39.15 cr].” The comedy caper is expected to cross Rs 40 crore mark by today or tomorrow at the overseas box office. Golmaal Again was released in 752 screens across 50 countries makes it Ajay Devgn’s widest release till date.
Post the immense success of Golmaal Again, director Rohit Shetty expressed his joy and said in a statement, “We waited more than seven years for the right subject to take the ‘Golmaal’ franchise forward. What we have achieved is very exciting and humbling, all thanks to the love showered upon us by fans across the globe.” Shibasish Sarkar, chief operating officer at Reliance Entertainment, also shared his happiness and said, “Golmaal Again has been an incredible journey for all of us. Our friend and partner, Rohit Shetty and his team, have outperformed every benchmark, and we are delighted with their unprecedented success.”
The film is already on the verge of becoming Ajay Devgn’s highest overseas grosser. Despite being a masala entertainer, the film managed to clicked well with the international audiences. The goodwill of previous parts has helped Golmaal Again to perform much better in the international circuits compare to Ajay’s previous films like Son of Sardaar and Singham Returns.
