The new poster of Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film Sanju is out.
The new poster of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Sanju is out. The movie is based on the life of Bollywood’s controversial star Sanjay Dutt. The previous posters in the promotional spree featured Manisha Koirala as Sanjay’s mother Nargis, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt and so on. So, the new poster is centred on Sanjay’s wife Maanayata Dutt. Dia Mirza essays the role in the film. In the fresh poster, she is looking strikingly similar to Maanayata. We actually were already impressed by how spot on the role is when we watched the first trailer of Sanju. Director of the film, Rajkumar Hirani, while sharing the poster on Twitter wrote, “And here comes Dia Mirza as Maanayata, someone whose stood by #Sanju through thick and thin.” [sic]
Just like the previous poster, you can see that Brooklyn Bridge is there in the background. This definitely hints that New York will play a very important role in the film. Ranbir is also seen on the poster, looking melancholic.
Dia Mirza has worked in a few Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films’ projects in the past. She has earlier featured in movies like Parineeta and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. But this seems like one of the trickiest and toughest characters. So far we are impressed by the way Dia is looking. We hope that movie gives her some stellar scenes to perform.
Ranbir will also be seen sharing the screen space with Sonam Kapoor in Sanju. The actress plays an unspecified but an important role in the film. Talking about reuniting with her after Saawariya, Ranbir said, “Sonam and I worked together 10 years ago in ‘Saawariya’ and after that, we never got an opportunity to work together but Sonam is same as she used to be when we both were assistant directors in Black. The only thing that changed in her is that she has become an even better actress, so, when I worked with her this time, the kind of confidence and experience she came with was amazing and I think both of us enjoyed working with each other.”
