Apart from Irrfan, the movie stars Mithila Palkar and Dulquer Salmaan in their debut Bollywood roles.

“Mayyat me romance mat kar,” utters Shaukat, played by Irrfan Khan, in the trailer of Karwaan. Right there, you know that Irrfan is going to be the life of this film about death. After a long time, probably after Queen, a trailer has impressed me so much. The first footage of Karwaan dropped today and we are sure it is going to be well received by all. Apart from Irrfan, the movie stars Mithila Palkar and Dulquer Salmaan in their debut Bollywood roles.

Karwaan trailer opens with Dulquer receiving the sad news about his father’s death. And you will find yourself chuckling right away. It is very clear from the very first scene that this movie about death is not going to take death so seriously. A mix up of dead bodies makes Dulquer go on a road trip with his best buddy, Irrfan. And they are later joined by Mithila. We are not saying that the debutantes did not impress us, we are just saying that Irrfan’s brilliant act over shines everyone else’s. In the trailer, he gets funny one-liner after the other and delivers them in his signature style with utmost perfection.

For a movie that is dealing with loss, Karwaan sure paints a picture that we rarely see in Bollywood. There are no depressing, gloomy imageries about death but a lavish green backdrop of Kochi and a bright yellow Tata Nano to talk about how life goes on.
Karwaan has been produced by RSVP Films. And kudos to the producer for backing such brilliant movies. Their Love Per Square Foot is one of the best romantic movies we have watched in the longest time. And the recently released, Lust Stories, also has critics and viewers praising it. Karwaan will sure get its due attention too.

Karwaan is also the directorial debut of Akash Khurana. The movie is slated to release on August 3.
