Sonu was shooting for the film in the city
Bollywood is currently producing quite a few biopics. One of which is on Rani Laxmibai. Titled, Manikarnika, this one stars Kangana Ranaut, who plays the Queen of Jhansi. The film also stars Sonu Sood and marks the Bollywood debut of TV actress, Ankita Lokhande. While we have got a glimpse into the look of Kangana, thanks to some on-set pictures that made way to social media few months back, now we get a sneak peek into Sonu’s look. The actor was shooting for the film in the city today and was clicked in his look between shots. We must say, he is looking like an authentic royal here. Kudos to the makeup artists and stylists for doing an amazing job!

Talking about his role in Manikarnika, Sonu, in an official statement, had said, “It’s challenging to play a real life character because you know that it existed in the history and you have certain parameters to follow and stay within. I’m sure when you’re working with a brilliant director like Krish, a huge ensemble and a brilliant technical team, there is no way to go wrong. So we are all on our toes to give our best.” The actor has previously been a part of period and historical dramas, including Jodhaa Akbar and Shaheed-E-Azam.
Along with Kangana, Ankita and Sonu, Manikarnika also stars Atul Kulkarni and Arjan Bajwa in pivotal roles. Directed by Krish and co-produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain and co-produced by Nishant Pitti, Manikarnika was earlier slated to release on April 27. However, the date has been pushed and there is no official announcement on the new release date yet. Stay tuned to here for all the latest updates.
