Bharat Ane Nenu releases on April 20.
April 2018 was supposed to be a big month down South because 2.0 was expected to release on April 27. But with Avengers Infinity War taking the same date, it got pushed. It seems to have been a well-thought of decision because in recent years we have seen that Hollywood superhero films have the potential to crush local films. So while Rajinikanth’s film got postponed indefinitely, Mahesh Babu Bharat Ane Nenu found a release date on April 20. Now, it has even passed the Censor scanner with no cuts at all! It got a U/A certificate.

Bharat Ane Nenu is in the news for various reason. It sees the return of Mahesh Babu and Kortala Siva after Srimanthudu – one of the highest grossing Telugu movies of 2015. Thus a lot is expected of this and the moment we saw the trailer we yearned for a Chief Minister like him. The superstar plays the CM of Andhra Pradesh and will do anything to maintain law, order and peace. It is one of the most powerful trailers we have seen in last few years. This film is extremely important for Mahesh Babu as his last release Spyder couldn’t really set the cash registers ringing. It was one of his most expensive films. From the look of it, BAN has it in it to become a hit but we will only know for sure on April 20. Check out the trailer once again right here…
In an interview with The Indian Express, Mahesh Babu had said, “When Siva said my character is a chief minister, I was a little afraid in the beginning. It is because I always stay away from the politics. But, when he narrated the story, I was inspired do this film. I also learned a lot while shooting the film. I think this is my finest performance ever. And I will always cherish this.”
