We are really looking forward to Manmarziyaan
It was a pleasant surprise to see the pictures of a turban clad Abhishek Bachchan that made way to social media last week. Those were the stills from Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, Manmarziyaan, which stars Abhishek, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. Abhishek will be seen on the big screen after a gap of almost two years (he was last seen in Housefull 3, which released in 2016). Today another picture of Abhishek’s look was posted by the actor himself on his Instagram account. He credits photographer, Tej Inder Singh for the picture as the caption on Abhishek’s post reads, “#onset photo taken by the supremely talented @khamkhaphotoartist. The 2nd photo is me returning the favour. #Manmarziyaan #TakeTwo (sic).”

Aanand L Rai is producing Manmarziyaan under his banner, Colour Yellow Productions. Earlier, the film was supposed to be made with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, but clearly things didn’t fall in place. In between, there was talk that Dulquer Salmaan may do the role that Abhishek is doing. Talking about Abhishek, Rai told a leading daily, “I don’t know why we are saying that he is coming back. He has been around. It’s good for an actor to take a gap if he so wishes to. He’s a talented actor. I’ve always wanted to work with him, and I’m glad we could do that with Manmarziyaan.”
Manmarziyaan is set to release on September 7, 2018, that’s the same day as JP Dutta’s Paltan, which stars Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal, Harshwardhan Rane and Gurmeet Choudhary. Incidentally, Abhishek was also officially on-board for the project, but he later backed out of it.
