How adorable is this picture of Akshay Kumar with the Afghani kids

Akshay Kumar’s last film, Pad Man might not have made good money at the box office, but the actor surely managed to break the taboo around menstrual hygiene at some level. He is all set to make the nation proud yet again with his next project, Kesari, which is based on the Battle Of Saragarhi, one of the bravest battles fought in India.

akshay is playing the central character of Havildar Ishar Singh in the film, which is being produced by Karan Johar. And you would certainly remember the first look picture that was shared by KJo few months back on Twitter. Akshay’s makeover was so impressive that it got everyone talking. Now we have another picture from the sets of the film, and this one will surely bring a smile on your face.

Parineeti Chopra has been finalised to play the female lead opposite Akshay. But before the official announcement was made by Karan, we already told you about it. Our source had said, “Both Karan and Akshay have zeroed in on Parineeti Chopra and she has given her nod too. She is very much onboard and will begin prep for the film soon. An official announcement about the same is being planned for sometime in November end. This is a big project for Parineeti and there was no way she could turn it down.” This is the first time that Parineeti and Akshay are working together for a film.

Here’s a little something on the battle of Saragarhi. Fought in 1897, the battle is one of the glorious chapters in the history of Sikhs. The brave warriors of the 36th Sikh regiment of the British Indian Army, which was led by Havildar Ishar Singh defended India from the Pashtun and Orakzai tribesmen who were approximately 10,000 in number. Only 21 soldiers were at the post but they defended the the forts of Lockhart and Gulistan on the border areas of Afghanistan.
