Bhaagamathie has no shades of Baahubali 2, reveals Anushka Shetty

Anushka Shetty denies reports that Bhaagamathie has taken several references from Prabhas' Baahubali 2!

Anushka Shetty‘s ambitious film – Bhaagamathieis all set to hit the screens this Republic Day. And while everyone is eager to see the movie, it has been compared to a lot of her previous films. As soon as the trailer of Bhaagamathie hit the internet, people drew parallels with Baahubali, Rudramadevi and Arundhati. In fact, while watching the film’s trailer, we observed that Anushka Shetty had even copied alleged boyfriend Prabhas’ iconic pose from baahubali 2: the conclusion. While the makers have been mum about it, Anushka has come out and denied that Bhaagamathie is similar to any of her films. In fact, during a conversation with Indian Express, the actress stated that Bhaagamathiewill not have any shades of any of Baahubali 2 or any other of her previous works.

Anushka further spoke about Bhaagamathiebeing delayed, when she told the daily, “It was definitely my fault. I first heard the script more than four years back, after Mirchi I guess. It was completely new at that point in time. But I could not allocate the dates. I am very thankful that they waited for me. I haven’t done a thriller. That drove me to listen to the script when UV creations told me there was this project with Ashok garu. Horror and thriller are not generally my genres. But once I heard the script, I was amazed at it. It is very contemporary with a great screenplay.”

Talking about baahubali‘s success and the hangover of the film, Anushka added, “It is inspiring that we did something like that — quite motivating, in fact. Even after I am gone, the Baahubali franchise will be a part of history. It is something that fascinates me. But Bhaagamathiewasn’t treated as a post-Baahubali movie. The characters are our strength.
