Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal Will Have A Telugu Release On November 9th

A week ago, Mersal’s Telugu version was all set to release in theatres but it came to a grinding halt since it didn’t receive its clearance from the CBFC board. Speculations were rife that considering the controversial GST scene in Mersal, the film has been kept on hold because of the CBFC. Soon after the chairman Prasoon Joshi clarified that the film certificate body in fact had asked for any cuts. It turned out the producers themselves put the film on hold as they wanted to increase of number of prints on the film. The good news is, Mersal’s Telugu version – Adhirindhi finally has a release date – November 9th! The CBFC has cleared it with a U/A. So all the Thalapathy fans in AP and Telangana can rejoice, as the Telugu version is here!

The film ever since its release has been witnessing a glorious run at the box office. Mersal apart from faring brilliantly at the Tamil Nadu box office has been performing phenomenally overseas! The movie managed to gross Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office with its Tmail version alone. The movie has managed to create new records in Malaysia, UAE, France and several others. It has become one of the highest grossers of 2017. Mersal marks thalapathy vijay and Atlee’s second collaboration. Their first film also roared at the box office. Reports suggest the two might even come together for the third time. Mersal also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The actor stars in a triple role – as a chiefttan, a magician and a doctor. The story highlights the malpractices prevalent in the medical industry.
