The first weekend is over and Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s Befikre has scored decently at the box office. The first weekend collection of the Aditya Chopra directorial stands at Rs 34.36 crores after collecting Rs 12.40 crores on Sunday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Befikre Fri 10.36 cr, Sat 11.60 cr, Sun 12.40 cr. Total: ₹ 34.36 cr [2100 screens]. India biz.”
Interestingly, the film hasn’t managed to show growth as expected on the second and third day of the weekend. With Befikre, Aditya Chopra is working with Ranveer Singh for the first time as a director. Aditya’s last three films Mohabbatein, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge featured Shah Rukh Khan.
Meanwhile, Dear Zindagi starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt collected Rs 64.44 crores in its third week. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ” #DearZindagi [Week 3] Fri 55 lacs, Sat 1.10 cr, Sun 1.30 cr. Weekend 3: ₹ 2.95 cr. Total: ₹ 64.44 cr. India biz.”
If we compare the first-weekend collections of both Befikre and Dear Zindagi, there’s not much difference between the two. While Befikre earned Rs 34.36 cr after the first three days, weekend collection of Dear Zindagi was Rs 32.50 crore. However, Befikre’s budget is close to Rs 70 crore while Dear Zindagi’s was around Rs 40 crore.
Trade Analyst earlier shared, ” #DearZindagi – OVERSEAS – Opening Weekend: $ 4 million [₹ 27.45 cr]… Best in USA-Canada and UAE-GCC… SUPER!.” Taran also shared earlier,” #DearZindagi packs a SOLID PUNCH… Shows FAB growth… Fri 8.75 car, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 12.50 cr. There is no major release next week, Befikre will get an extended window at the box office.
