Dear Zindagi has turned one and producer Karan Johar couldn't be any happier
Dear Zindagi, that released exactly a year ago, was one of those sweet films that grows on you. No matter how many times you watch the film, you would want to go back to it repeatedly for its simplicity. Alia Bhatt was understated yet extremely charming in her role of a lost millennial, and in his extended cameo appearance, Shah Rukh Khan was nothing less than delightful. The film, directed by Gauri Shinde, rightfully garnered praise from all quarters. And while it feels like it was just yesterday, it has been a year since the film’s release.
Dear Zindagi has turned one and producer Karan Johar couldn’t be any happier. He took to Twitter to share not one but two posts about the same and his happiness is evident from the tweets. Check out the tweets below…
“I year of DEAR ZINDAGI….such a special film…such an important film beautifully woven by @gauris and performed by @aliaa08 and @iamsrk ….so proud to be associated with it…..”
he wrote in one of the tweets and we can’t agree with him more. It was indeed a beautiful story and an important one at that. No wonder it received the kind of praise that it did. The film had also managed to do decently at the box office and made profit for its makers too.
Dear Zindagi, jointly produced by both Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, featured Alia Bhatt in the main lead, with Shah Rukh Khan playing an extended cameo of her therapist (that the promotions purported as ‘life coach’). Apart from these two, the movie also had cameos from Ali Zafar, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi and Aditya Roy Kapur. This was Gauri Shinde’s second movie, after she won a lot of plaudits from designing a brilliant comeback from Sridevi in English Vinglish.
