Let's check out some of them...

Tamil superstar and national-award-winning actor Dhanush is back as the dreaded gangster in his swag avatar with Maari 2. Right from the promo to the songs, the film successfully conveyed the message to the audience that like its prequel, you can expect entertainment with all the elements which will give you a great cinematic experience in the movie hall. Honestly, it has managed to achieve that already. Maari 2 has opened to positive reviews and the critics are praising the lead stars for their amazing performances. Let's check out some of them...

Sify movies gave the verdict that it is an engaging mass masala entertainer and wrote: "Though the predictable storyline, loud packaging and hurried climax are some of the flaws, Maari 2, may work for its target audiences.”

HT compared the film with its prequel and wrote, "India likes its masala. Just as we like our food spicy, we prefer our films with a generous sprinkling of action, a twist of comedy, which are then served with a side helping song and dance. However, not all masala entertainers are made equal. Dhanush’s Maari was perhaps a fine example of getting everything right. Its sequel, Maari 2, fails to reach the same heights but is a rollicking ride nonetheless."

TOI wrote that despite an average story, Dhanush shines as the naughtiest don. Their review says, "Despite the narrative issues of Maari, director Balaji Mohan managed to make his central character a lovable one. He brings back this character, Maari (Dhanush), one more time, but once again, the story that we get around this “naughtiest don” remains underwhelming."

The Quint gave the film, 3.5 stars and wrote, "Maari 2 succeeds where most films fail; it’s a sequel that’s better than the first. It has an almost equally riveting second half. The climax fight was a bit of a drag though. Most important, it’s a film without a deep sociological or environmental or societal message. It scores in the way it deals with genuine, fully fleshed out characters and their emotions. Maari can’t exist in the real world. But you’ll end up believing he does!"

FilmiBeat also praised the film for its mass-appeal and wrote, "Maari 2 has the right dosage of mass & fun elements and at the same time, it gives due importance to emotional aspects as well. The Dhanush-starrer has definitely turned out to be a film that is worth a watch."

So, with these positive reviews, we are sure that Dhanush's flick will turn out to be a box office winner.
