Sanju is scheduled to release on June 29
After showcasing different lives of controversial star Sanjay Dutt through a series of posters, the makers of Sanju released the last look poster of the biographical drama. The poster featuring lead star Ranbir Kapoor in a bearded avatar with hand-cuffs takes us back to the year 1993 when Sanjay Dutt was arrested for the first time. The poster was shared by filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani on his Twitter account and described the poster by captioning it, “Sanju was first arrested in 1993. In prison for 18 months. Could not get bail. A recreation of that time. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi”

Known for delivering blockbusters like 3 Idiots, PK and the Munnabhai series, director Rajkumar Hirani has showcased Sanjay Dutt’s entire journey through six different stages. Talking about that, he said, “It is not possible to show a 55-year-old journey in two or two-and-a-half-hours. We had to let go of certain parts.” Apart from Ranbir, the film features the ensemble cast comprising of Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Dia Mirza and Karishma Tanna.
During the teaser launch, Ranbir was asked, out of the six chapters of Sanjay’s life, which one was difficult to portray. “The difficult one which I did not expect was the young Sanju because there were a lot of facets that we had to show. First, the drugs then coming out of it, then his mother’s death and the most fun was Munna Bhai phase. I enjoyed doing it,” said Ranbir. It is scheduled to release on June 29.
