Ram Charan's Rangasthalam is one of the biggest hits of 2018.
2018 is special year for Ram Charan as his latest release – Ranagsthalam has not grossed over Rs 200 crore but has also successfully completed 50 days at the theatres. The movie is officially one of the highest grossing films of 2018. Although the film is now live streaming on Amazon, the film continues to run in a few theatres. The film has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark, thus becoming Ram Charan’s biggest hit so far. Directed by Sukumar, the movie starred Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu together for the first time. They were seen in completely new avatars as the film was set against a village in the 80s. Ram Charan as Chitti Babu won over fans, critics and celebs for his commendable act. As for Samantha, she was a much loved by fans as Rama Lakshmibai. All in all, the movie was raved about for its realistic portrayal of village and for the performances. The film has managed to fare phenomenally at the US box office as well.
In other news, Ram Charan has already begun shooting for her next with Srinu. It’s touted to be a hardcore commercial entertainer. Coming from the director of Sarrainodu, we can expect some kickass action sequences. Apart from this movie, he has another mega budget coming up which fans are most excited about! He is all set to reunited with SS Rajamouli that will also star Jr NTR! Now that’s what you call a casting coup!
Here’s an excerpt from our review of Rangasthalam – The film has quite a few takeaways. The biggest ones are the performances. Ram Charan leads the pack with his swag, attitude and body language infusing life into the hot headed, naughty but emotional Chittti Babu. Samantha Akkineni gets into the skin of the village belle Ramalaxmi and is the queen of expressions. She is a delight to watch in the song Rangama Mangama. Jagapathi Babu is repulsive as the fuedal village Lord. He evokes menace through his eyes. The second highlight is Ratnavelu’s cinematography. Rangasthalam is a gorgeous looking film. The lens captures everything beautifully from the ripples of the Godavari to the fields and a moonlit night. It is superb.
