The trailer revealed to us that Varun's character in the film, Dan, is an employee in the hotel management industry.

Varun Dhawan took up the challenging task of starring in the performance-oriented film, Badlapur, quite early in his career. Doing an author-backed film at that conjecture in his life earned him the credit that he can, in fact, act despite working in all out and out masala films post-Badlapur. Well, he is once again returning to the big screen with the intention to show us his acting prowess. He will be seen in October, a film directed by Shoojit Sircar. The makers have released the making video of the film and we have got to give it to Varun, that he goes the extra mile to do justice to his film. And that is not just limited to slashing his fees.

The trailer revealed to us that Varun’s character in the film, Dan, is an employee in the hotel management industry. Though his area of a specification is not revealed as he is shown doing all – from scrubbing toilets to being a receptionist. Director Shoojit revealed in the making video that the idea behind Varun having such odd jobs stems from the fact that stubborn trainees in the hotel management are made to do all sorts of chores to get them straight. He appreciates how Varun gave the role his 100 percent and was on board with doing whatever is required. Check out the making video below!
Remember we were the first one to tell you that October will be the love story of one character? Well, the trailer also seems to suggest the same. Varun’s character seems to be in love with Banita’s character Shiuli, who is comatose. We also told you that the film will be high on medical jargons and the first trailer also provides a glimpse of that when we see Varun visiting the hospital and questioning the nurse about Shiuli’s health.

BTW, in case you are wondering why the movie is titled October, we have a little trivia for you. The lead female character in the film is named Shiuli. The name, in Bengali, means the flower Night Jasmine. We also see the presence of this flower strongly in the promotional content of the film. In fact, the O in the title is made up of a Night Jasmine. And, the fact about the said type of flower is that it only blooms in October. Hence the title of the film. Could it also be a spoiler about the climax? Or are we thinking too much? Well, we will know for sure in two weeks when October releases.
