It has not been a great time for Malayalam actor Dileep, lately. With accusations of abduction and molestation looming over his head, he has somehow managed to star in another movie, Kammara Sambhavam. The first teaser of the period thriller dropped today. The movie also marks the Malayalam debut of Siddharth, featuring in a lead role alongside Dileep.
Dileep plays the central character named Kammaran Nambiar, while Siddharth plays Othenan Nambiar. Bobby Simha, Namitha Pramod and Murali Gopy also star in Kammara Sambhavam. The story isn’t exactly clear from the teaser but we get to see Dileep in a seemingly very sly role. He has not been given much screen time in the trailer. The last scene of the teaser is intriguing where Dileep and Siddharth light up a cigarette from the same matchstick. We have to say that the look of the film is very nice. The art department can be given a round of applause.
Siddharth seems very happy about this film as he tweeted, “Honoured to be a part of this brilliant picture. Welcome to greatness, director Rathish Ambat! Written by @muraligopy Thank you Gokulam Movies and Dileepettan for your belief in this magnum opus! #Malayalam #Debut” [sic] We wonder how he is going to face the press while promoting this film. It will be the toughest promotional tour for him ever.
The movie is expected to release on April 5. Not many days are there for this film’s release. Will you watch it?
Dileep’s name emerged as a suspect in a molestation case last year and he was arrested on July 10, 2017, after two rounds of questioning. After spending 85 days in jail, he got a conditional bail. The trial court in December accepted the charge sheet that names a total of 12 persons, including Dileep as accused. The 650-page charge sheet included secret depositions. The trail began mid-March and the verdict in the case is still awaited.
