Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is South megastar Chiranjeevi's 151st film
The Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, is currently in Hyderabad shooting for Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. It is South megastar Chiranjeevi’s 151st film, and the 75-year-old actor shared a picture from his look test. We must say his thick bearded look has raised our excitement to a new level. Senior Bachchan wrote on his blog, “Dear friend Chiranjeevi, that majestic superstar and icon from the world of Andhra and Telugu cinema, requests for a guest appearance in his magnum opus, on a most valiant period character that he portrays, and I agree.” Although the actor mentioned that this is not the final look, but close to it. “These are not the final, but close,” he further wrote.
Big B also expressed that every time he thinks of not using wigs and prosthetics in the film, the plot and subject demand just that. “The transformation of the subject from the bright and excited to the sombre and grim is the greatest anathema of movie making. I do swear and promise myself that ‘never again’ shall I ever indulge in sticking wigs and hair for a film… But eventually get caught in projects that demand just that. So…alright for the sake of creative excellence and necessity, I submit.”
Interestingly, the actor has gone through heavy prosthetics for his upcoming film 102 Not Out, which also features Rishi Kapoor in a key role. Coming back to Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, the film is reported to be a trilingual film which will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Based on life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, the film is made on a lavish budget of Rs 150 crore and also features Nayanthara, Jagapati Babu, Kiccha Sudeep and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan and is directed by Surender Reddy. The film is expected to hit the screens next year.
