The date is quite special to Sanjay
We still remember when the biopic on Sanjay Dutt was only announced, many disagreed with the casting. But when the first set of leaked pictures from the sets made their way to the internet, everyone was shocked. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Bollywood’s baba not only imbibed his persona, but also managed to look exactly like him. And considering Rajkumar Hirani is directing, fans are all the way more excited and cannot wait to catch the first glimpse of the film. And looks like the wait is about to come to an end in a few months as according to a report in DNA, the trailer of the biopic will be dropped on May 8. And there is a special reason behind unveiling the trailer on that day.
Apparently, Sanjay himself is very keen that the film’s trailer comes out on May 8. You see, Sanjay started his career with the film, Rocky that was released on May 8, 1981. It’s a very memorable date for him and hence it’s only natural that he would want the trailer of the biopic to come out on that day. Rocky is special for Sanjay in another way as well as it was directed by his late father, Sunil Dutt. Plus Rocky was released five days after Sanjay’s mother lost her life due to cancer. In fact, a seat was left vacant in the theatre in her memory at the premiere of the film. Now all we can do is just wait and watch if Raju will respect Sanjay’s wish.
According to a report in SKJ News, there is a decision on the title of the film that has to be taken by the team too. Again, while Sanjay wants the title to be as ‘Sanju’, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani like the sound of ‘Baba’. All this while there were rumours that the film will be called ‘Dutt’.
Along with Ranbir, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal and Karishma Tanna also star in the movie. The film is set to hit the theatres on June 29.
