Though the audience is still gushing over Ranveer Singh‘s character of Allauddin Khilji, from Padmaavat, he has already slipped into the shoes of his rapper character for Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming film, Gully Boy. The actor shot the first song from the movie in Dharavi over the last five days. The movie is based on the life of the popular rappers – Divine and Naezy and Zoya has decided to include their popular song, Mere Gully Mein, in the movie.

The song will be a fast-paced track that will see Ranveer B-boying for the first time. The number is choreographed by Bosco Martis. A source revealed to a daily, “Ranveer has always been a smooth dancer. But Zoya was certain that he needed to be well-versed with B-boying as he would be matching steps with professional dancers in the number.” The source further added, “The song was shot in Anna Nagar, a bunch of shanties behind Dharavi’s Kamarajar School. Aged between 12 to 20, the boys were thrilled by Ranveer’s enthusiasm for B-boying and aced the cypher (forming a circle) sequence.” Are you excited to see Ranveer B-boying? The movie will have Alia Bhatt, opposite Ranveer. While talking about Alia, in an interview, Ranveer had said, “It’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia (Bhatt), who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness.”
