Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0 is all set to release on April 14, 2018!
rajinikanth, akshay kumar and amy jackson‘s 2.0 is one of the most exciting films of the year. And while it was supposed to release this Republic Day, the film got pushed by the end of last year. There was no official confirmation on which day the film would release. In December, the makers finally mentioned that it would release in April, but no date was announced. However, we can now confirm that 2.0 will hit the screens on April 14, 2018. In fact, Rajinikanth himself revealed this piece of information on the fifth day of his six-day fan interaction at the Raghavendra marriage. April 14 is the Tamil New Year, so obviously 2.0 will benefit from the holiday and the festivities that follow. And with only Varun Dhawan’s October releasing that weekend, we are sure 2.0 will easily take over the Hindi and Tamil box office completely.
While talking about the film, Rajinikanth revealed that 2.0‘s release got postponed due to the excessive CG work and a few re-recordings that had to be done by AR RAHMAN. He further added that the final output with all the graphics had to be seen before the final release date could be locked and therefore, 2.0 was postponed from January to April 14. He even mentioned that this one would be a unique movie, when he told his fans, “You won’t find another movie like 2.0. There will be even more expensive films but content-wise 2.0 is very fresh and unique. It’ll be remembered like how Chandralekha is talked about even today.”
Apart from all this, Rajinikanth also spoke about Pa Ranjith’s Kaala, where as he said, he would be seen in a very different dimension. For those of you who don’t know, Kaala is Thalaiva’s second collaboration with Ranjith, after Kabali.
