Suriya 36 will start rolling after the release of Thaanaa Serndha Koottam

Suriya 36 is slated for Diwali 2018 release.

Suriya 36 is expected to start rolling after the release of Suriya’s Thaanaa Serndha Koottam directed by Vignesh Shivan. The movie is releasing worldwide on January 12th the Pongal festival weekend.

The pooja for Suriya 36 was held in Chennai yesterday. Suriya 36 marks the first time association of Suriya and filmmaker Selvaraghavan, who has earlier worked with Suriya’s brother Karthi in Aayirathil Oruvan, one of the under-appreciated Tamil films.

The shooting for Suriya 36, according to the team, will commence from Pongal. The movie is produced by Prabhu SR’s Dream Warrior Pictures, who bankrolled acclaimed hits such as Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Aruvi, and Maanagaram in 2017. The movie has Sai Pallavi playing the lead heroine. It will be her third Tamil film after director Vijay’s emotional drama Karu and director Balaji Mohan’s Maari 2.

Suriya 36 is slated for Diwali 2018 release. The makers of both Thalapathy 62 and Ajith’s Viswasam are also targeting Diwali 2018 to release their films. Suriya is currently awaiting the release of TSK, produced by Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green. The movie has Keerthy Suresh playing the lead heroine. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the project, which also stars Senthil, RJ Balaji, Karthik and Ramya Krishnan in important roles.

In an earlier interview with us, Vignesh Shivan on working with Anirudh said, “Asked about his winning collaborations with Anirudh back to back, Vignesh said, “Touchwood! Ani gives his best for everyone immaterial of who it is. When we work together, we discuss lots of ideas and make random and spontaneous decisions. We placed a song in the fag end of the climax in Naanum Rowdy Thaan. Though we had small doubts, we went for it, and the audience absolutely liked it.”
