Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra finally goes on floors February.
A piece of good news for all Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt fans, is finally here. Their much awaited and talked-about sci-fi movie, Brahmastra, will go on floors this month and we have proof. After celebrating pre-New Year’s bash in Bali with her girl gang, Alia Bhatt returned to her home city on December 30, only to fly again the next day. Ranbir Kapoor with Alia Bhatt and best friend Ayan Mukerji was snapped at the airport on the night of 31 as the trio left for Tel Aviv, Israel. The unit plans to shoot the first schedule in the financial capital of Israel and the fact itself is enough to make us eager.
While the location of Ayan Mukerji’s first schedule of Brahmastra was kept under wraps and no details were shared whatsoever, but thanks to the actors’ fans in Israel, who clicked pictures with them and posted it on social media accounts, we have some inkling as to what is happening. Alia and Ranbir’s Brahmastra is the first film in a trilogy. It is slated to be released on Independence Day, 2019. The project was in the pipeline since the last two years as Ayan was reworking on its script and now, with its final draft being ready, the unit is all set to call the shots. While many believed that Alia will start working with Ranveer Singh for Gully Boys, little did we know, Brahmastra shoot was scheduled much before that.

Dressed in black jeans, white tank top, black leather jacket and matching boots, Alia’s biker-chic look at the airport won our hearts. And if Alia took some efforts in grooming herself for her airport look, Ranbir was equally lazy. Dressed in simple light blue jeans with dark blue sweatshirt and tan colour shoes, he kept it extremely simple and well, boring. The ambitious project, that also stars Amitabh Bachchan, is slated to be a superhero movie that promises to change the scene of VFX-laden films in the country. While we are well aware that most of the back-end work on the VFX is completed here in India, it is the budget of their films vs Indian films that makes all the difference. Which is perhaps why the makers of Brahmastra haven’t put a cap on the budget of their film and it is expected to exceed Rs 150 crore.
Brahmastra was earlier named Dragon and Ayan had planned to release its trailer in the MAMI Film Festival last year. While attending the same event in 2016, Ayan had dropped a major hint on the subject of his movie and it didn’t exactly revolve around a superhero. He said,“I know the word superhero is attached with my film now but it’s not exactly a superhero movie as such. It’s a movie with a fantasy element in it. I would prefer describing it as modern day romantic fantasy as opposed to a superhero film.” Well, with such interesting plot and actors, we hope Ayan is able to deliver the most successful movie of 2019.
