Karan Johar will announce the names of the leading ladies next month.
It was a mix of delightful surprise and utter shock when Karan Johar, head honcho of Dharma Productions, announced that a sequel of Student of the Year, starring Tiger Shroff, was in the making. The original film didn’t seem like a movie that will spawn a sequel. But here we are…informing you about the release date of Student of the Year 2. Karan took to his social media pages and announced that the film is slated to release on November 23 this year. A poster featuring Tiger in an unbuttoned shirt, flaunting his washboard abs, accompanied the announcement tweet.
Karan won’t be returning as the director for the film this time around. But, in his words, he has ‘passed the baton’ to Punit Malhotra, who is known for Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and I Hate Luv Storys. Student of the Year 2 will be a joint venture between Dharma and Fox Star Studios. So, we know the release date of the sequel, we know the director and we know the producers. But what about the leading ladies? Well, Karan has promised that the names of the two heroines of the film will be announced next month.
While the first film was one heroine-two hero venture, the sequel changes the game with two female leads and one male. Many actresses are eyeing for a role in this film but as per rumour, Karan has his heart set on launching friend Chunky Panday’s daughter Anany with this project. Tiger’s rumoured girlfriend Disha Patani is also rumoured to be in the running for SOTY2. Well, we are definitely pumped up to know the names of the two heroines. Who are your guesses, ?
