Mohini fails to impress us.
Mohini’s trailer was widely anticipated and thus, when it released we watched with great excitement. But what we saw left us heavily disappointed. Not only does it look technically inapt but also fails to make any impact. It is supposed to be a horror comedy but we neither laughed nor felt spooked by it. In fact, the spirit which was seen hovering over everyone looks strangely similar to dementors from Harry Potter and The Prisoners of Azkaban. Interestingly, we even found out why the spirit seemed so akin to HP. People behind the CG work has worked on the Harry Potter films. Hence, the similarity!

We heard that Trisha plays a chef and blogger in the film. The actress had even trained under chefs to get her act right. Thanks to the trailer, we now know she plays a ghost too. But what pleasantly surprised us was Jackky Bhagnani’s presence. Yes, that was a bit shocking. We had no clue the guy has gone down South to revive his career. Well, honestly, from what we see, we aren’t really kicked about the film at all.

In other news, Trisha has as much as five projects lined up. She will be debuting in Malayalm cinema with Hey Jude opposite Nivin Pauly. The teaser gave us glimpse of the unusual love story to come. Then there’s the NH10 remake Garjanai. She will be part of Sathuranga Vettai 2, a spiritual successor to the 2014 hit film. She will star opposite Arvind Swamy in this film. She will be seen opposite Vijay sethupathi as well in 96, a love story.
Reportedly, the year 96 will play an important role. She also has 1818 a film based on Mumbai terror attacks.

Trisha was last seen in Kodi, as Rudra, the lead antagonist. She starred opposite Dhanush in this political drama. Her grey character was hugely praised by fans and critics.
