During a recent press meet, music director AR Rahman said that there are three songs in the film.

The third and final song of Rajinikanth starrer 2.o is apparently ready, and according to lyricist Madhan Karky, the track will be released very soon.

2.o, which was touted to be a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, was recently revealed to not be an ‘extension’ of the older film. The highly anticipated film is gearing up for release early next year.

During a recent press meet, music director AR Rahman said that there are three songs in the film. “As we approach the background score, we may have more bit tracks added to the OST,” he added. The press meet was held just ahead of the audio launch in Dubai, where two of the three songs were released.

Lyricist Madhan Karky has now revealed that the third song in 2.otitled Pullinaangal will be released soon. Penned by Late lyricist Na.Muthukumar and sung by Dharma, Shashaa Tirupati, and AR Ameen, the song is dedicated to the love of birds and it is most likely swaying towards Akshay Kumar’s character in the film.
Akshay Kumar is the antagonist in the film, but Director Shankar recently revealed that his character is much more than just an antagonist. “He has never done anything like this before. Akshay sir is not just an antagonist in the film, he has many shades,” Shankar said.
“My character in the film is definitely unique and no one has approached me with a role like this before,” Akshay Kumar said.

Nirav Shah is the cinematographer for the film and Anthony is the editor. Oscar award winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty has handled the sound designing, the animatronics work has been done by Legacy Effects and Mary E Vogt has designed the special costumes. Stunt choreographer Kenny Bates and visual effects specialists John Hughes and Walt Jones are also a part of the project.

Rumoured to be made on a budget of over Rs 400 crore, the film marks the third collaboration between Shankar and Rajinikanth, post-Enthiran and Sivaji.

Although the talkie portion has already been completed, the makers postponed the release to ensure high-quality VFX output. Over 15 studios from across the globe are simultaneously working on different portions of the film. The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu, with plans to release it in 12 other languages.

The film’s satellite rights across all languages were bagged by Zee Network for a whopping Rs 100 crore, making it the highest amount paid for an Indian film.
