The release date of Padmavati is inching closer. Sanjay Leele Bhansali has directed the period drama which features Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. The three actors portray the roles of Rani Padmini, Raja Rawal Singh and Mughal emperor Alauddin Khilji, respectively, in the movie set to release on November 1. A new poster featuring Ranveer in his look for the film has made its way to the internet and, boy, is it intimidating. The poster is embodying menace as well as royalty. Once you have a look at Ranveer sitting on the throne, you’d know he is handpicked for this role. The way he has has surrendered to playing the part is commendable; and just this poster is enough to make that deduction. His posture, his attire, and the smoldering look in his eyes is intimidating.

Earlier this day, A NEW SONG FROM THE FILM WAS RELEASED. Title Ek Dil Ek Jaan, the romantic number has been picturised on Deepika and Shahid. In case you are way too disturbed by the poster above, you can check out the mellow song, to set your mood right.

We totally love the poster and are very eager to see what Ranveer has to offer in the film. We have heard that he was so dedicated to the craft, that unit members were scared to interact with him on sets. You know what they say, some actors become the character. A source close to the production has earlier told us, “Ranveer is a complete team player, a leader and a dynamic source of energy on the sets. When he gets on set everyone loves interacting with him and laughs and jokes around with him like usual. However once he gets into his Khilji look in costume and make up and is ready to go on set, people almost stay away from him unless needed and things quieten down as he is so compelling in his character when he slips into the skin of Alauddin Khilji.” And yes, there’s also a sense of adulation for the actor’s ability to portray such roles, our source also added, “It’s not easy, becoming so intense every day.”

In fact, once the movie was wrapped up, reportedly, Ranveer took help of therapy to get rid of the residue that playing that character left on him. “Ranveer actually has his friends worried. To play Alauddin Khilji, he has been researching and exploring extreme negativity. He is a friendly, warm young man, like all of us. To become Khilji, he took the same route as he did to play Peshwa Bajirao. He locked himself up in his apartment, prepped and stayed in the headspace for weeks. Getting out of this dark, intimidating mindset wasn’t easy for him. The film has also been shot for almost a year now, so sustaining the Khilji persona was very challenging. It affected his reactions and behavior towards people. Which is why, his friends advised him to get help in emerging beyond Khilji. He is going to a psychiatrist to get rid of the Khilji influences.” a news daily quoted their source, earlier.
