Golmaal Again has become Ajay Devgn's and 2017's first Rs 200 crore Bollywood film
After crossing the Rs 200 crore mark, Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again has slowed down iat the box office. The horror-comedy collected Rs 41 lakh yesterday and now stands at the grand total of Rs 201.84 crore. Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, shared the collections on his twitter handle. He wrote, “#GolmaalAgain [Week 4] Fri 62 lakhs, Sat 1.16 cr, Sun 1.69 cr, Mon 41 lakhs. Total: ₹ 201.84 cr. India biz… BLOCKBUSTER!” Since the film is now earning in lakhs, we can expect the fourth installment of the Golmaal franchise to end its theatrical run by next week.
The film has managed to rule the box office since almost a month now. Despite new Bollywood and Hollywood releases like Ittefaq, Thor: Ragnarok and others, Golmaal Again has managed to survive well at the box office. The film has become Ajay Devgn’s and 2017’s first Rs 200 crore Bollywood film. On achieving this milestone, director Rohit Shetty expressed his happiness and said, “I am overwhelmed with the response that the film has received and thank the worldwide audience for appreciating the film.” Even Shibasish Sarkar – the chief operating officer of Reliance Entertainment, shared his excitement and said, “It is very rare for a film to create such wonders at the box office. We are thankful to our friend and partner Rohit for his incredible vision that made this possible.”
Golmaal Again, which also features the huge star cast of Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra and Tabu, has managed to attract the large chunk of the audience in the theaters to become the biggest blockbuster of 2017.
