Here's why Nayanthara's Aramm cannot be missed.

Amidst all the hardcore commercial releases this year, here comes along a quiet yet powerful film that is all set to hit theatres this week. It deals with a prevalent subject, has Nayanthara leading the way and will mark a directorial debut. We are talking about Aramm. The film also stars Ramesh and Vignesh of Kakka Muthai fame. The film, that was to release much earlier this year, will finally see the light of day on November 10. With only 2 days to go for one of the most unusual releases, here’s why you just can’t miss Aramm!

Nayanthara – She is reason enough to catch this film. Her movie choices have been a balance of commercial and performance oriented roles. Aramm falls in the latter category. Interestingly, this will be her second women centric film of the year. She will yet again be seen in a de-glam avatar. This time, she will play an authoritative character, who is all set to change the grave scene once and for all.

Women centric film – While there haven’t been hardcore  women centric films this year, we have seen actors pull off powerful roles in Baahubali, Fida, Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam to name a few. Dora was the only women centric project this year and that also happened to star Nayanthara. With the Queen of Kollywood taking on a pertinent subject this time again, we can’t wait to watch it!  Interestingly, Minjur Gopi wrote this role keeping no actor or actress in mind. There was no intention to make it women centric but we are glad it ended up being one.

Social issue – Contrary to reports, this is not just a film with a social message, but actually a thriller with a social message. This lesser known fact has been kept under wraps to create an air of suspense around Aramm. Nonetheless the fact that this film deals with pertinents issues irrespective of the thriller element makes this movie a must watch.

Minjur Gopi – The film will mark controversial figure, Minjur Gopi’s directorial debut. For those who don’t know, back when he was an assistant director, he came under the spotlight when he filed a plagiarism case against AR Murugadoss as he believed Kaththi’s story line was very similar to a plot he had narrated to Murugadoss. After creating  much chaos, for reasons unknown, Minjur Gopi withdrew his case and was fined thereafter for creating unnecessary commotion. And now he has come up with Aramm that interestingly deals with water problems as Kaththi did. But the director is clear that the story bears no resemblance to Kaththi.

Poster, trailer – The excitement for Aramm began with the first look poster that was unveiled on Nayanthara’s birthday last year. The poster featured the actress in a no-nonsense de-glam avatar. The drastic change from her otherwise glamorous avatar created quite a stir among fans. The poster was followed by two teasers – one that released earlier this year and another that released ten days ago.
