Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 Crosses The Rs 75 Crore Mark In Four Days.

varun dhawan‘s much awaited judwaa 2 finally hit theatres last week on September 29. The movie may just have broken the long, weary number jinx as it has taken over Bollywood box office by storm. The dry, dull spell at the box office is now over as Judwaa 2 comes to the rescue. Right from Day 1, the film has opened to a phenomenal response – It started off with an above expectation figure – Rs 16.10 crore and it has only continued to grow. At the end of the opening weekend, the film has long crossed the Rs 50 crore mark effortlessly. As per the latest figures Monday hasn’t proved to be dull either as it raked in Rs 18 crore. The total now stands at a whopping Rs 77.25 crore.

If the film keeps up the current momentum it won’t be long before Judwaa 2  becomes Varun Dhawan’s second hit film of this year. However it must be brought to notice the Monday figures have seen a slight drop from Rs 22.60 crore on Sunday despite Monday being  a holiday. However owing to nostalgia factor around Judwaa, Salman Khan’s cameo and Varun Dhawan’s delightful double role, the film is more than likely to hold a steady ground depsite drops here and there.

crosses ₹ 75 cr mark... Fri 16.10 cr, Sat 20.55 cr, Sun 22.60 cr, Mon 18 cr. Total: ₹ 77.25 cr. India biz. OUTSTANDING!

The film’s massy appeal has been a major winning point for film as it caters to audience of all kinds. Here’s an excerpt from our review on Judwaa 2: the film works because it understands why the original was such a big success. It also helps when the director of the film, who had helmed the original, and his son, who has an insane mass appeal and is starring as the lead, have come together for this film. David Dhawan makes no qualms about the fact that Judwaa 2 is a tribute to Salman. Even if the actor hadn’t done the cameo towards the end, he’s present throughout the film in every scene, song, line and frame. You watch Varun attempt to make some of the iconic Judwaa scenes (bath tub scene, toilet twins encounter) his own, sometimes he struggles, but most of the times he triumphs unscathed. The trick is not to imitate, but pay an ode, and Varun does it with utmost conviction
