Golmaal Again Has Left Everyone Really Happy!
It was long overdue. The way golmaal againopened at the box office, everyone knew it will be the biggest one in the franchise so far. By raking in over Rs 30.14 crore on the first day, it was supposed to win laurels at the box office too. And after breaking many records, Golmaal Again has become the biggest hit of the franchise.
Golmaal films have always manged to pull people to the theatres. Over the years, the theme of the film has undergone considerable change. The first one, Golmaal Fun Unlimited, which released in 2006, is still the favourite of many. It was one of the sleeper hits of the year after it got an average opening. It had earned around Rs 30 crore. Next up was Golmaal Returns in 2008 which saw the exit of Sharman Joshi and the entry of Kareena Kapoor in the franchise, along with Shreyas Talpade. It earned Rs 52 crore. In 2010, Golmaal 3 released during Diwali along with Fashion and left the cash registers ringing. It was one of the highest grossers of the year and earned Rs 106.34 crore. Diwali has a major role to play in the success of this franchise. Given the festive mood, such family entertainers always manage to make the audience throng to the theatres. Shah Rukh Khan’s films had owned the festival wholeheartedly just because of that. It’s the time when people love to watch movies with the family and leave the theatres with a smile on their face. Thus, it is one of the most lucrative festivals for Bollywood. No wonder people scramble to make the date theirs.
