The movie is a sequel/reboot of the 1996 movie Judwaa, starring Salman Khan, also directed by David Dhawan. For the sequel, Salman Khan is in all support for the project, even reprising his roles from the original for a cameo appearance. Varun Dhawan had even stated that Salman Khan had given him the jeans he wore in Judwaa to prep himself for the Rajaa character.
Now on the eve of the release of his movie, Varun Dhawan took to Twitter to thanks his idol and mentor for being the right kind of influence and even dedicating the movie to him. Using a picture of both him and Salman, Varun wrote, “Im not influenced from any Hollywood actor but influenced by @BeingSalmanKhan. Thank you for being my raja and prem. the film is urs now.” That’s a really nice thank you note, Varun, considering that Judwaa 2 almost looks like a frame to frame adaptation of the original movie.

Judwaa 2 also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu as the female leads. All the songs, especially the remixes of Oonchi Hai Building and Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12, have become chartbusters. Trade pundits predict that Judwaa 2 will be another blockbuster for Varun Dhawan and will get a bumper opening. With Salman Khan’s cameo (that shouldn’t have been spoiled a week before), the movie will bring in both Salman and Varun fans at the theatres. Let’s hope that it maintains the festive spirit.
