For the first time in 14 years, Salman Khan’s family is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma’s new plush house instead of Galaxy apartments, where such celebrations generally used to take place. Khans have always had celebrated the festival on large scale and it used to become a bit inconvenient for their ageing parents with all the friends and family members visiting the house. Hence, they decided to shift the location to Arpita’s house this year.
Arpita told DNA, “Actually, it becomes a little difficult for dad (Salim Khan) and mom (Salma Khan) because there are so many people coming in and they don’t get their space. For two days, there are people constantly in and out, and it’s a bit much for them. Last year, too, we talked about moving it out of Galaxy. This year we got this new house and so we decided to do the celebrations at our place.”
This is the first function that the married couple is having at their new house and hence Arpita has been personally looking after all the preparations. It was a star studded night at their house as almost everyone from the industry dropped in to seek blessings of Bappa. salman khan, who recently returned from his Tiger Zinda Hai shoot, was one of the first visitors. Brother Arbaaz, Sohail and mother Helen also attended the even. Everyone from priyanka chopra, sonakshi sinha, Karishma Kapoor, Sooraj Pancholu to rumored girlfriend Iulia Vantur attended the puja. It was heart warming to see yesteryear actresses Asha Parekh and Bindu at the event. Salman’s former co-actor Neelam Kothari was also present. TV actors Ragini Khanna, Kumkum Bhagya star Shabbir Ahluwalia, wife Kanchi Singh and Anup Soni were also spotted.

Ganesh Chathurthi has always been a special festival for the Khans and Arpita is made sure that the change in destination doesn’t affect the celebrations. “When I’d decided to start keeping Ganpati, we didn’t know how long we would do so. It all just happened. Now after 14 years of celebrating it, it’s become a family function. We all look forward to celebrating it. I feel truly blessed to have Ganpati Bappa grace our new home with his presence first and then we will be moving in. Galaxy will always be blessed by Ganpati and the visarjan will be at Galaxy garden. Although the celebrations are shifting to their new abode, everything else remains unchanged. It is still the family’s Ganpati. It’s still very much the entire family’s festival. Everyone’s going to be here. It’s just that it’s at a new destination. Salman bhai will also be coming for a day to be there with us,” she said.
