Baahubali 2 star Prabhas becomes first south Indian actor to get wax statue at Madam Tussaud's; see pictures

With Baahubali: The Conclusion breaking every box office record in sight since its opening on April 28, the star has beaten established the first actor from southern cinema to be featured at Madame Tussauds. His figure will be displayed at the museum’s Bangkok venue

The statues feature him as his famous character Amarendra Baahubali from director SS Rajamouli’s two-part films.


Amidst the roaring success of SS Rajamouli's war epic Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, its lead actor Prabhas has become the first south Indian actor to be immortalised through a wax statue at Madame Tussaud's Museum in Bangkok.

Film critic Ramesh Bala, who had broken the news about this development last year, posted pictures of the wax statue of the Telugu superstar unveiled at the Bangkok edition of Madame Tussaud's Museum.  reports that the statue will now be toured worldwide.

Prabhas has been immortalised in his avatar of Amarendra Baahubali, sporting a ferocious look highlighted by a war zone setup. In the process, Prabhas has beaten the likes of Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal to become the first south Indian star to be featured at the museum.

Besides him, other cinema personalities who have their statues there include Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among others.


Prabhas saying, "I am really happy to have been selected by Madame Tussauds’ and I think this was only possible because of fans. I am grateful for their unconditional love and support. I am also thankful to my guru, SS Rajamouli, for the opportunity to work on this fantastic project Baahubali."

The same report states that the actor, when he met the artists, he got as many as 350 pictures clicked for their reference. It looks like all the toil and patience has gained fruition now that his wax statue has been unveiled at the museum.


Baahubali 2: The Conclusion also stars Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan. It is the sequel to Rajamouli's 2015 blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning. It is produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Deviprasad Srineni's Arka Mediaworks. It has been released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Its Hindi version is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
