The cast of 'Sarkar 3' and the film's producers gathered for the launch of the trailer. Amitabh Bachchan and Rohini Hattangadi reprise their roles from the earlier films. Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam and Jackie Shorff are the new additions to the film's cast
On being asked how it feels to be a part of the successful franchise, Yami expressed her gratitude to RGV. Amit answered the same question by saying, "With utmost humility and gratitude, I don't have the capacity to 'choose' this film. When I saw the first two films, I didn't think I could be a part of this universe with Mr Bachchan. I am very grateful to Ramu sir and Amit sir."
Jaggu Dada also remarked on joining the Sarkar universe, "Why wouldn't anyone work on a film like Sarkar? Ramu has handled me well in the past in 'Rangeela'. He made me look so good." Speaking about the senior Bachchan, he recalled an incident from the sets of 'Eklavya', "For an action sequence, Sanjay Dutt's character was beating me up and I did not have my shield to protect me. AB offered me his own character's shield. It is very rare people take care of you like this."
To his kind words, Bachchan said, "Bhidu, you worked in two big films 'Happy New Year' and 'Dhoom 3', we wish for some magic from you that makes our film a hit of that magnitude as well."
On the film's progression, Amitabh said, "It was natural for us to do a third film."
Ramu added that the film is more or less an independent story from the last 2 films.
"Yami is not a vamp. All characters are grey in the film.", commented Ramu on the film's characters' moralities.
Whether he believes what his character in the film says, "Rajneeti daldal hai", Bachchan said, "I've done more than 200 films in my career. Don't relate my character's statements with my off-screen personality. We often say things written by others, in which we may not believe in."
Jackie shared his excitement to pair up again with Amitabh, "When I watch him work, it makes me more cautious towards my work. It wants me to put in more in my performance."
Bachchan also said that he believes that the writer and the director are the most important people on the set. "I like to follow the director when I am on set. All discussions with the director must happen off the sets."
Playing the influential character of Subhash Nagre for the third time, Bachchan said that he's been fascinated by the lives of people in power. "Yes, they are normal humans too. What intrigues me about them is that every powerful person has a family, people close to them, and no home can be perfect, everyone has viewpoints. Do the dining table discussions affect the politician's decisions at their work?"
Asked if the film will court any trouble with the censors, RGV said, "'Sarkar 3' will not anger Pahlaj Nihalani."
Going by the film's trailer the 'Pink' star will be seen speaking Marathi in the film too. "If I am a Maharashtrian in the film, the character needs to speak the mother tongue too."
