Varun Dhawan to team up with Shoojit Sircar for a gritty film?

Shoojit Sircar , who has been busy producing films after his last directorial 'Piku', seems to be gearing up for a return to direction. According to reports, Shoojit is planning to make a dark, gritty film with Varun Dhawan  as its protagonist. Varun and Shoojit have been reportedly discussing the project for a while and the two are keen to join hands.

Varun has tasted much success with romcoms like 'Student Of The Year', 'Main Tera Hero', 'ABCD 2' and 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', but has also managed to pull off a serious role in Sriram Raghaclvan 's revenge-drama 'Badlapur'. Shoojit believes that the actor can liven up the intense film with his performance.

At the moment, Varun is busy promoting 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' with Alia Bhatt and shooting for his father, David Dhawan's film 'Judwaa 2'.
