Shah Rukh Khan 's 'Raees', which is currently in its second week, garnered Rs 1.50 crore (nett) on Monday. With this addition, the total collection of the Rahul Dholakia-directed film stands at approximately Rs 123.05 crore after its 13-day run at the theatres. It has already crossed the lifetime collections of three of Shah Rukh's 100-crore grossers - 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', 'RA.One' and 'Don 2'. Shah Rukh's other 100-crore earners include 'Chennai Express', 'Happy New Year' and 'Dilwale'.
What is interesting is that 'Raees' is set to surpass the collections of last year's Republic Day release - Akshay Kumar 's 'Airlift', thus becoming the biggest Bollywood grosser to have released in January. It is a general belief in Bollywood that films releasing in the first month of the year fail to make a mark at the box-office. However, Shah Rukh's release seems to have broken the January jinx
Raees' is doing well in the international market too. However, unfortunately, the film was banned from releasing in Pakistan. According to reports, the Central Censor Board decided not to release the film since "the content undermines Islam and a specific religious sect".
'Raees' clashed at the box-office with Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil'. The two films hit the screens on January 25.
