Varun Dhawan is prepping up for release of Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Actor Varun Dhawan says that he hasn’t been approached for Zoya Akhtars next film Gully Boy. According to the reports, actor Ranveer Singh, who was first approached for the film, has opted out due to date clash, and now Varun has stepped in but the Dilwale actor has put a rest to all those rumours. “That’s not true at all. I am not doing that film,” Varun said. Meanwhile, the Dishoom actor has completed “Badrinath Ki Dulhania”, which also stars Alia Bhatt. Speaking about the film, Varun said: “‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is a very special film for me. I am very passionate about this project and the film delivers a special message also, which is very important.”

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the romantic comedy is set to release on March 10. Asked about his much-awaited film Judwaa 2, which will also star Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, Varun said: “I always wanted to work with Jacqueline and Taapsee. I have worked with Jacqueline, and Tapsee is a very dear friend. I am very excited to work with them. Taapsee was outstanding in ‘Pink’. Both are very talented.” Varun also thinks that Judwaa 2, a sequel to the 1997 Salman Khan starrer Judwaa is a “big responsibility” for him. The film is directed by his father, David Dhawan.

Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy is a coming-of-age story based on the lives of street rappers from Mumbai’s chawls and ghettos. It was reported that Ranveer Singh will make his singing debut with the film.

However, with the film slipping out of the hands of Befikre actor, who will be the face for this role? Well, only Zoya has the answer to this question.
