Soon after, the actor was flooded with concerned tweets from friends, fans and well-wishers.
And while Varun refused to divulge any further details of the reported accident, he did take to Twitter to clear the air, stating, "The car that is stating, "The car that is damaged is my car. I had come to help someone in my family, who had an accident. For everyone asking, everyone in my family is fine and no one is injured."
Now, Mirror has learnt that it was the actor's mum, Karuna Dhawan, who was in the car with her driver when the brakes failed and the car rammed into a foot path close to their residence. The car didn't touch anyone else.
The actor rushed to his mum's aid as soon as the news of the accident was relayed to him.
Varun leaves for Singapore next week for the next schedule of Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya which also fea tures Alia Bhatt and Ayushmann Khurrana's younger brother, Aparshakti.

Varun Dhawan is known to be one of the coolest actors and gets along really well with his fans and admirers and is often also seen clicking pictures and selfies with them. Hence, it came as a shock when Varun lost his cool recently and slammed one of the Twitteratis who levied false allegations on the actor. So a guy tweeted saying, "Just saw @Varun_dvn car dashed a honda city at juhu 10th road #VarunDhawan #accident " A furious Varun replied saying, "The car that is damaged is my car. I had come to help someone in my family who had an accident.i suggest you shut up." The 'Dishoom' actor didn't just stop there. He further gave a piece of his mind to the troll saying, "@thelimuas you want to get famous by making up things. Now your claim to fame is that you get trolled by me #jackass" Phew! Now that coming from a cool-like-a-cucumber Varun is surprising, but we are sure the guy who was at the receiving end of Varun's ire will think twice before trolling him again!
