In June, Irrfan Khan along with 18-year-old son Babil flew to Singapore for the first round of promotions of his upcoming American thriller, Inferno, combining the work trip with a bit of sightseeing. The two toured the Gardens by the Bay, visited the Art Science Museum and even went shopping on Orchard Road. On Wednesday, the actor has taken off to Florence, Italy, with wife Sutapa Sikdar for the world premiere of the Ron Howards-directed-Tom Hanksstarrer in which he plays Harry Sims, `The Provost'. He had visited Florence two years ago when he was the guest of honour at the River to River Indian Film Festival. Mayor Dario Nardella had given the actor the keys of the city. The premiere will be held on Saturday, followed by a dinner with the actors and their families.

"The cast who met three months after the Singapore trip, were catching up on the lost time. Tom, Ron, Irrfan and Sutapa are exploring the city, attending parties, dinners and media interactions," informs a source close to the actor. Irrfan met with the Mayor again and discussed Indian and European cinema with him. He will be returning to the Bay on Monday to promote his film in India before leaving for another foreign city tour.
