Mahesh Babu played Chief Minister for the first time and it paid off.
Bharat Ane Nenu starring Mahesh Babu in the lead finally hit theatres worldwide today. The movie has been garnering huge buzz as it marks the second collaboration of Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva. The last time they came together they delivered one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema. But this time, this partnership set out for something unique. They went in for a socio-politcial themed film with Mahesh Babu playing Chief Minister for the first time. While the team up was not new, the genre and character were new for Mahesh Babu. He admitted in one of his interviews that he was apprehensive to take up the role because he knew nothing about politics. So did Mahesh Babu’s risk to play a new character and take up a new genre pay off?
The answer is a resounding yes! The actor has taken on a novel character and has done complete justice. His body language, his dialogue delivery, his style of emoting went through a drastic transformation. The subtle actor brought out his aggressive side that fans were pleasantly surprised to see. The scene where he takes oath, where he confronts the journalist for spreading a falsehood, where he fights against the other corrupt Minister were defining. In his own ways, Mahesh Babu exhibited multiple layers to his character. He was a man who once made a commitment, abided by it no matter what. He was a character high on principle and integrity. Apart from his commendable effort, it seems that the experiment has been liked by fans as well.
Ever since the film’s release, positive reviews have been flowing in. in fact the #BharatAneNenuFirstDayFirstShow has been trending on Twitter. Overwhelmed with the response, Mahesh Babu has taken to social media to thank his fans. Seems like the actor has returned with a bang after two average successes – Spyder and Brahotsavam, The film is on its way to create records already at the US box office.
Hey Mahesh Babu, while you continue to take commercial entertainers, don;t forget to experiment because your fans want that too. What say? ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’
