Tik Tik Tik looks like an extraordinary Indian film

The trailer for India’s first space adventure film was released today. Titled Tik Tik Tik, the Tamil film stars Jayam Ravi in the lead role. The plot is about a few astronauts on a space mission to destroy an approaching asteroid before its too late. The whole trailer if full of spectacular scenes set in outer space. Certainly, a lot of time and money has been spent on VFX. The sound design of the trailer is also awesome. The music perfectly goes with the vibe of the space film.

The film, which is on the verge of completion, marks the reunion of Ravi and director Shakti Soundar Rajan after last year’s Tamil zombie thriller Miruthan. Tipped to be a race-against-time thriller, the film also stars Nivetha Pethuraj and Singaporean actor Aziz Aaron.

We are totally bowled over by the magnitude of Tik Tik Tik. We can’t wait for the movie to open in theatres. In case you still need more convincing…here are a few breathtaking shots from the trailer.

The reflection of Earth on Jayam’s space suit helmet sure is detailing at its best.

This scene defying gravity is so cool

The sun rising on the horizon makes this shot so beautiful

This well-designed interior of a satellite. We can’t comment on scientific accuracy but it sure looks LIT

This moment when you knows things have gone wrong in the mission

This magical wide shot! Look at the tiny astronaut

What a lovely shot of the sky overshadowing the future.

Talking about the film, Shakti told IANS: “We have explored the space genre in a commercial set-up. It’s very challenging to engage audience when the story shifts to space as there are not too many elements to play with. Our film has no romance and even the songs have been shot as montages but we have elements we think will appeal to everybody.”

Produced by Hitesh Jhabak, the film has music by D. Imman.
