Mahanati's fan made poster starring Dulquer and Keerthy Suresh has us excited!

One of the most anticipated films in Tamil and Telugu cinema is Mahanati. This film will chronicle the life of yesteryear superstar – Savithri. She was a renowned southern sensation who worked across multiple languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Nag Ashwin has taken on the responsibility to helm this project. The movie stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead. She is all set to step into the shoes of the yesteryear actress. The first rushes of the actress Savithri stunned fans as she bore an uncanny resemblance to her. The movie will talk about the important people in her life – Jamnu, her trusted confidante, Gemini Ganesan, the most important person in her life Bhanumathie, her biggest contemporary, ANR, her co-star. Dulquer Salmaan has been brought on board to play Gemini Ganesan. This movie will mark his debut in Tollywood. Everyone is looking forwrad to the Savithri – Ganesan sequence. In fact, fans are si excited that they have created a special poster depicting the two actors as the reel life actors. The pose is uncanny! With Mahnati we will surely go back in time and relive Savithri’s life.

Anushka Shetty will step into the role of Bhanumathi. The story goes that all of Bhanumathie’s rejected films would go to Savithri and that’s why she became a star. Bhanumathi was known to be an straightforward powerful  women. Samantha will play Jamuna who will also be narrating the film. Naga Chaitanya recently came on board, he will be essaying his grandfather on screen. The film is set to release in Tamil and Telugu on March 29

On working with Nag Ashwin, here’s what Keerthy Suresh has to say – We had the narration session for almost three hours. Until someone else has told, I would have never known or felt that the director has little experience. The very thought of making a biopic on Savitri amma itself is very mature. Not everybody can think like that or pull it off as he did. I never had any apprehensions
