After fetching a tremendous response for the trailer, the makers of padman released the first song of the film titled Aaj Se Teri. The song showcases the cute chemistry of Laxmikant Chauhan and Gayatri Choubey played by Akshay Kumar and radhika apte after they get married. The song perfectly captures the chemistry of the just married pair and young couples will definitely connect to it instantly. Director R Balki has also managed to catch the authenticity of a raw but beautiful location of a North Indian village.

The saccharine voice of Arijit Singh and the beautiful lyrics by Kausar Munir completely justify the amazing composition of Amit Trivedi. Padman is based on the life of Tamil Nadu-based social activist, Arunachalam Muruganantham. Akshay Kumar portrays the central character in the film, who finds a way to make cheap, affordable sanitary napkins for the women in his village. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, under her banner, Mrs Funnybones Movies. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor in a key role.
Well, this is not the first time when the actor has worked in a project that highlights social issues. Akshay Kumar’s last film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, was a satirical drama which dealt with the problem of sanitation in rural regions. Like Baby and Airlift, Akshay Kumar has booked the Republic Day weekend for Padman. The film is all set to hit screens on January 26, 2018, and will lock horns with Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Aiyaary at the box office.
