Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan might team up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a biopic.
Looks like Deepika Padukone is truly Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lucky charm. The actress and the producer/ director will be teaming up for another film soon along with Abhishek Bachchan. Industry tracker and trade analyst Ramesh Bala confirms these reports in a tweet saying, “@deepikapadukone signs @juniorbachchan – Producer #SLB ‘s yet to be titled Poet-Lyricist #SahirLudhianvi ‘s Bio-pic.” There was buzz that Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra have been roped in for the film but these reports clearly rubbish the rumours. Abhishek was in the news for walking out of Paltan. We had told you exclusively why Abhishek decided to walk out of the JP Dutta film.
An insider told us, “Abhishek was quite kicked about Paltan. However, he realised after a while that Sonu Sood had more screen space than him. That bothered him considerably. When he discussed his apprehensions with Dutta, he told him that while Sonu had more screen time, it was Abhishek who had a better character written for him. Dutta could not convince him and he backed out at the end minute.” Coming back to Abhishek and Deepika being cast opposite each other, we think it’s quite thrilling to see them work together in a film. Abhishek has been choosing his films quite carefully.

Sahir Ludhianvi was the pen name of Abdul Hayee who was a legendary poet and lyricist. He has contributed a lot to the Indian cinema and has won many awards for the same. He was also awarded the Padma Shri in 1971 and won Best Lyricist Filmfare award for his work in Amitabh Bachchan’s Kabhie Kabhie. The writer had to flee from Lahore, Pakistan to Mumbai after partition in 1949. He did live quite a controversial life.
