Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal Might Just Have Big Opening As Compared To Golmaal Again And Secret Superstar.
Diwali is here – Apart from the scrumptious fare, beautiful clothes and the pretty lightings, this festival is BIG this year, courtesy thalapathy vijay‘s Mersal. Tamil Nadu’s biggest superstar is out with the second film of this year and everybody is super happy! The fact that he has collaborated with Theri director Atlee plays a huge factor because their last film together gave Vijay one of his biggest hits. The movie has garnered huge buzz at all stages – first look poster, audio album, teaser, promos, release date. The craze for Mersal on social media is a testimony to Thalapthy’s fandom. The craze and buzz is for everyone to see but the interesting thing is- the movie is being declared a BIG Diwali release even in the trade circles. “Here’s a film with Vijay on Diwali, hugely anticipated coming solo in Tamil Nadu, Imagine the possibilities. Also, the sheer anticipation built around the teaser is huge. I won’t be surprised if the highest grossing film this Diwali, (if you look at the PAN India picture) will be Mersal.” states Akshaye Rathi in an exclusive conversation with us
He is also of the view that between the three films releasing this Diwali, Mersal might have the biggest opening -“Between Mersal, Golmaal and Superstar, I won’t be surprised if Mersal has the highest opening and the highest lifetime. In fact, he went on to state that Mersal’s opening figures might be more than Golmaal’s “Golmaal, we are talking about Rs 25 crore day 1, I am pretty sure, Mersal will be Rs 30 crore odd on Day 1.” Whoa! Mersal is not just being declared the biggest release but is also predicted to get the biggest opening.
The first day first show frenzy has begun! Shows as early as 12:30 am are being organised. Let’s see what Vijay and the three leading ladies – Nithya Menen, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal have in store.
