deepika padukone and hema malini come together to launch one dreamy book

Hema Malini turns 69 today and she did something extra special to celebrate her birthday. She unveiled her biography, titled Beyond The Dream Girl, which is penned by Ram Kamal Mukherjee. It even has a foreword written by Honorable PM Narendra Modi. To launch the book, Hema had invited deepika padukone to the event. Makes sense to have today’s dream girl unveil the book written on timeless dream girl.

Also present at the event with Hema was her family. Her daughters Ahana Deol and Esha Deol were there applauding for their mom with full spirit. Esha soon will be a mom herself. It was so heartwarming to see her flaunt her baby bump in a beautiful white dress. Check out the pics from the event here:

The biography will unveil lot of chapters from Hema’s life. Like the time when Dharmendra landed up at her home to stop her wedding with Jeetendra. Yep, that happened. Hema also talks about meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. An excerpt, first appeared on the quint, from the book read as below-

“I never thought that Shah Rukh will become such a big star,’ she tells me. ‘But Indira Ma (her guru-ji) had told me that he would become a phenomenon. When she saw his photograph for the first time she told me that Shah Rukh is a star and he will change the industry. Since then, I knew that something big was going to happen with my movie. The day he signed my film, the same week he had signed four other films, including Deewana, King Uncle (1993) and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994). Every second day I would come to know that Shah Rukh had signed a new film. That’s when I knew that Indira Ma was right. She could foresee what none of us could.”

Deepika looked pretty in a red saree at the event. It had been a long time since we saw the actress in a saree. Whistles from our end.
